The Blue Link Trio came together in one of those happy accidents
that couldn't be planned, couldn't be predicted. It was a case of everyone
being in the right place at the right time. Singer / bass guitarist Sweet
Felicia was at a loose end following the break up of Lil Fi and the Delta
Rhythm Kings, where she had been a key player in one of Australia's most well
loved combos. Trevor Gollagher had just returned to playing drums after a
four year self-imposed exile from the music scene. He had also been a member
of the Delta Rhythm Kings, but had not worked with Felicia before. Twenty-year
old guitarist Daniel Nosovich had been playing rockabilly, but gigs were irregular,
and besides, he was itching to use all those hot riffs he'd been picking up
from forties and fifties style blues and swing pickers.
Bingo! Felicia got the band together for a jam, and hit it off from note one. Almost immediately they became one of the most visible, steady working bands in Brisbane. The combination of Felicia's solid but agile bass and smooth swing vocals, Trev's dynamic but definitely in the groove skin work, and Dangerous Dan's cool, superbly paced fret work proved irresistable.
All the frantic cats and groovy chicks in Bris Vegas began wigging all along the main stem whenever this solid threesome began to play some. Low down, up town, high brow, low brow, these solid senders have got the knowhow. Whether you wanna cut a rug and jitterbug, or just hang loose and dig the groove, The Blue Link trio can make you move. And I'm not jivin', Jack!
